Community & club 2024-25

Quota members work in the community in many ways -- volunteering at the NE Iowa Food Bank, serving meals at Getting Ahead program and Love, INC program, providing hats and coats to homeless members in the community, giving food, gas cards and food cards to several local organizations, and many more.

Service to Community and People is made up of two committees ---Service to Community and Service to People in Need. The Community committee provides assistance to organizations that serve people in a group setting. The Service to People in Need provides assistance to organizations that provide more of an individual service.

Each of these committees has a chair and/or a co chair.

The list of agencies serviced and projects may change from year to year depending on the needs of the community. Each October the members decide hands-on projects and agencies with whom to work. Each project is guided by a contact person who volunteers to take that responsibility.

Each committee makes recommendations to the main Quota body at the monthly meeting relating to the amount of monies or services provided to each organization.

Some of the organizations we have served in the past include:

Boys' and Girls' Club

Catholic Worker House (we provide casseroles)

Family & Children's Council

Northeast Iowa Food Bank (we volunteer in person to assist as needed and also donate money each month)

Job Foundation

Hospitality House

House of Hope (we organize a Mother's Day event as well as providing individual Christmas stockings to kids)

North Star (we are a sponsor for their bi annual program)

YWCA (we usually sponsor the P.A.S.S. Program)

Salvation Army

Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center

Unity Point Allen Foundation

Mercy One Foundation

Eye of the Needle

Foster Graduates (we provide gift cards and attend the graduation party)

Getting Ahead in the Cedar Valley (we provide a meal for the attendees)

Lincoln Park Scarf Project

Love, Inc.
