Our Story

Quota Club has existed for over 100 years. In 1919, Quota Club International was founded by Wanda Frey Joyner in Buffalo, N.Y.  Locally, this Quota Club was chartered seven years later, in 1926, and has been in existence ever since. It has gone through a few name changes since then, but “Quota” has always been a part of the name.

Quota International, the founding organization, dissolved in 2020, but local clubs were encouraged to carry on independently, which our club was able to do successfully, and we renamed ourselves “Quota of the Cedar Valley”.

Quota is an interesting name. A “quota” is a part or share of what is needed to make up the required amount. We do our part or share when responding to a need. For years, Quota International used the motto “We Share,” and that same spirit of sharing our resources with others continues with the club to this day. We might not be able to do it all, but we give a share, do our part, our quota... That’s what Quota is all about!
